Members of Parliament and party cadres have vandalized the Office of the Province Chief and the Ministry, alleging that the appointment of Saroj Kumar Yadav as the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province on November 10, 2025, was made unconstitutionally.
Lawmakers and cadres from the Nepali Congress, Janata Samajbadi Party, Janamat Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, and the CPN (Unified Socialist) protested the appointment, claiming that it was carried out in violation of the Constitution and the law.

After Province Chief Sumitra Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office to Saroj Kumar Yadav as the Chief Minister at 4 a.m. at Panas Hotel in Bardibas, Mahottari District, a protest erupted in Janakpurdham, the provincial capital, expressing dissatisfaction over the appointment process.
According to Nayab Subba (Deputy Secretary) Pankaj Kumar Yadav, 24, lawmakers not only vandalized the office but also physically assaulted him and office assistant Shivlal Mahara, 57, who were working at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.
The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Madhesh Province Office Coordinator Raju Paswan, INSEC representative Santosh Kumar Yadav, and National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Madhesh Province Human Rights Officers Rahul Thakur and Deepak Pandey jointly conducted an on-site monitoring visit of the incident.
During the inspection, INSEC Madhesh Province Coordinator Paswan reported that flowerpots, gates, and other physical structures in front of the ministry had been damaged.
