The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to the family of a 15-year-old rape victim, under the protection project operated with the support of DCA, to help them access justice.
The victim had submitted an application to INSEC Madhesh Province Office on November 2, requesting legal assistance. The amount was provided to the victim’s family on November 6 through the Human Rights Help Desk. Raju Paswan, INSEC Madhesh Province Coordinator stated that the assistance was provided considering the weak economic condition of the victim’s family and with the aim of supporting them in their pursuit of justice.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against Dipendra Yadav,25, of Tarhari Tole, Sonma Rural Municipality, at the District Police Office on November 2, accusing him of raping the girl. The medical examination of the girl was done on the same day at the Provincial Hospital in Jaleshwar.
