Police arrested seven individuals in Kavre on October 31 for their involvement in vandalism, arson, and looting of various government and private properties during the Gen Z protest on September 9. The arrested individuals are Anish Sapkota from Panauti Municipality-3, Suman KC from Panauti municipality-8, Sakar KC from Panauti municipality-10, Subash Tamang from Panauti municipality-2, Samir Tamang from Bethanchok Rural Municipality-6, Home Prasad Timalsina from Bethanchok rural municipality-3, and Nemasang Moktan from Mahabharat Rural Municipality-4.
According to Rabin Bista, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Kavre District Police Office, Anish Sapkota has a prior criminal record, the police reported that a case was filed against him in 2015 for indecent behavior. Similarly, Home Prasad Timalsina also had a case registered against him in 2024 for indecent behavior. Subash Tamang has had three previous cases filed against him for theft.
The arrested have been placed in the custody of the Kavrepalanchok District Police Office for further investigation, with the Kavrepalanchok District Court extending the remand period by seven days.
