Police have arrested Umesh Tharu, 22 of Dhoubiya, Barbardiya Municipality–5, on October 24 on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to police, the victim’s family filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Baniyabhar, on October 23, alleging that the accused had raped the girl on October 22. Based on the complaint, further investigation into the accused is underway, said DSP and Information Officer Devendra Kumar Malla at the District Police Office.
The victim underwent a medical examination at Bardiya District Hospital, Gulariya, on October 23.
