An inmate who had escaped from Nakhu Jail during the Gen-Z protests has been arrested in Sankhuwasabha. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kumar Prasad Mainali of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, police arrested Bikash Bishwakarma,27, of Khandbari Municipality-8. Bishwakarma had been serving a sentence for rape at Nakhu Jail.
DSP Mainali stated that Bishwakarma, who had been serving a 12-year prison sentence at Nakhu Jail for rape, was arrested from his home on the afternoon of October 19. Police said six inmates who had escaped from Sankhuwasabha District during the Gen-Z protests have been arrested so far.
According to the District Police Office, he will be transferred to jail on October 19 to serve his sentence for rape. The District Jail in Khandbari currently houses 131 male inmates, eight female inmates, and two dependent children.
