The family of Saroj Paswan,23, of Kabilasi Municipality-8 filed a complaint on October 10 at the District Police Office, Malangwa, against Ward Chairperson Birendra Prasad Shah ,45,of the same ward, accusing him of caste-based discrimination. According to the complaint, the accused had invited all the people in the ward to a fundraising and worship program at Sahalesh Temple on September 28. During the event, the ward chairperson allegedly threatened the victim not to enter the temple, allegedly accusing him of belonging to a lower caste.
Dr. Sanjiv Kumar Singh stated that the victim underwent a medical examination at the District Hospital, Malangwa, on October 9. According to DSP Saroj Rai of the District Police Office, Malangwa, the accused is currently absconding, and the search is ongoing,
