Police arrested Samir Tiruwal of Geruwa Rural Municipality-5 on October 9 in connection with the killing of a 10-year-old girl from Geruwa Rural Municipality-5. The girl was going to a relative’s house for a wedding when, on October 3, the accused allegedly killed her near Budhikulo by the community forest in Ganeshpur, Geruwa-3, and buried her body. The police recovered the child’s body on October 6.
The police had launched an investigation immediately after the incident. Subsequently, Samir Tiruwal confessed to the killing after police suspected him on October 8, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Saroj Paudel of the District Police Office. The aggrieved party had filed a complaint against the accused at the area police station on October 8. The post-mortem of the body was done on the same day at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj.
