Police arrested Yam Bahadur Kandel,30, on the night of October 5 on charges of killing his mother, Ram Maya Kandel, 54, of Thapakateri, Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-5. According to SP Bheshraj Rijal of the Dhading District Police Office, the accused attacked and killed his mother with a Khuda (sharp weapon) while she was sleeping at home that night.
SP Rijal stated that the motive behind the killing has not yet been revealed and that further investigation is ongoing. As the victim had been beheaded, two separate reports were prepared, and the body was taken to Dhading Hospital for post-mortem.
