Ragini Shah, 29, was injured in an acid attack by her brother-in-law, Shravan Shah, 22, in Dhobiyari, Biratnagar Metropolitan City-9, following a domestic dispute on 22 September. DSP Kopila Chudal of the District Police Office stated that the accused attacked the victim over a financial disagreement.
The victim suffering burns to her face in the acid attack, is receiving treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-10. DSP Chudal stated that Shravan Shah, also known as Chhotu, fled after the incident, and police are currently searching for him.
Preliminary investigations by the police have revealed that the accused attacked his sister-in-law with acid over a financial dispute in which she allegedly failed to pay him Rs 1,000.
