The body of Santosh Kumar Tamang, 35 one of the inmates who escaped following an arson at Saptari Jail on 10 September, was discovered hanging by the roadside near a canal at Nargau Purwari Katti in Rajgadh Rural Municipality-3, in the route to Patthargadha.
On 13 September morning, a police team led by the Sub-Inspector in charge of Jhutki Police Post found Tamang’s body hanging from a silk scarf tied to a khayar tree. Tamang, a resident of Saptakoshi Municipality-10, had been serving a 25-year prison sentence for killing at the Rajbiraj Jial since 1 December 2018. The postmortem examination was conducted at Provincial Hospital Rajbiraj.
