The body of a 28-year-old woman of Batase, Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality-4, was found on 15 September. Police suspect that she may have been raped and then killed based on the condition of the body. Police reported that the woman, who was employed at the Ajambari Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperative in Sachtipokhari, Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality-5, was found dead on the night of 15 September in the Marse Community Forest, situated between Batase and Ramitedanda. According to the cooperative’s Chairperson, Sagar Tamang, she had left the office around 4 PM on the same day. After she did not return home late at night, a search was conducted, and her body was found in the bushes of Marse Community Forest, about 150 meters below the road.
Police teams from Yangsolatar, Chhitapokhari, Bhandareghat, and Yamkha have reached the site. Based on the condition of the scene, authorities suspect that the woman may have been raped and killing. The body was found with her neck tied with a black cloth, according to Lokendra Rai, Chairperson of Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality.
While the victim’s inner garments were found nearby, the body was found clothed, prompting police to suspect rape followed by killing.
