The 19th National Day Against Human Trafficking was marked with a rally. This year, the day was observed on September 5 with the slogan, Unified action across all levels of government to end human trafficking. With the participation of organizations such as Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), Maiti Nepal, and Shanti Foundation, a morning rally was held, starting from Bhrikutimandap and passing through Bhadrakali, Sundhara, Mahankalsthan, and Jamal, before concluding at an assembly at the National Dance Hall. The rally called for collective unity to prevent human trafficking. On the occasion, Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishor Shah Sudi stressed that human trafficking is a serious crime violating human dignity, and highlighted the urgent need for collective commitment to ensure the effectiveness and impact of anti-trafficking initiatives.
Participants in the rally carried placards and banners conveying messages like: unity against human trafficking, creating a trafficking-free society, staying aware and vigilant, holding traffickers accountable, and recognizing human trafficking as a serious crime.

Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Laxmi Kumari Basnet, stated that the Government of Nepal observes September 5 as the National Day Against Human Trafficking every year. This day marks September 5, 2006, when the then Parliament approved the Human Trafficking and Transportation Control Act.
