Newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki officially took charge at Singha Durbar on 14 September. Addressing employees, security personnel, and others, she emphasized the need to restrain corruption, enhance service delivery, and move forward in line with the aspirations of the new generation.
She stated that during the GenZ protest, there was extensive damage to public property across the country. Security agencies, police units, courts, and even Singha Durbar were destroyed by fire. While physical buildings can be rebuilt, the destruction of records has left them effectively starting from zero.
She stated that it appears there may have been a conspiracy behind the incidents of vandalism and arson during the movement. There is no question of letting those who caused harm and damage go unpunished, and everyone will be thoroughly investigated.
