One Injured in Gen-Z Protest Died During Treatment

Bijay Lama, 43, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10 in Chitwan, who was injured in an arson attack at the Kaski District Police Office, during the Gen-Z protest died while undergoing treatment. After about 70% of his body was burned in the fire, he was taken to the Western Regional Hospital through the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences. The hospital administration confirmed that Lama died at 12 midnight on 12 September.

As the protest intensified, protesters vandalized and set fire to various government offices. After most of the offices in Kaski were destroyed, they moved towards the District Police Office with bulldozers. Breaking through the gate, the protesters entered the office premises, where they vandalized the office and followed by looting, and arson. The police stated that while some of the looted weapons have been recovered, others are still missing.

In the same incident, a youth who entered the police office with a bulldozer was injured by a gunshot, and he is currently undergoing treatment, according to the police. The protesters had taken a bulldozer, loader, excavator, and tipper from the Heavy Equipment Division Office at Ratnachowk and used them to vandalize the streets.
