Police arrested Krishna Sunar, 39, of Satari Samjhingha, Bheriganga Municipality-2, who had been living in Kuwait, on 26 August for his involvement in human trafficking after 11 years of incident. He is accused of luring a 30-year-old woman from Surkhet into marriage and trafficking her to Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India, on 12 July 2015. Although a complaint had been filed at the Surkhet District Police Office at the time, Sunar had absconded after the incident. Later, at the request of the Nepal Police Headquarters, Interpol issued a Red Notice in his name.
The accused was arrested in Kuwait and brought to Surkhet on 28 August. DSP Mohan Jung Budhathapa of the Surkhet District Police Office said that the district court extended his custody for further investigation on the same day.
