A 13-year-old girl from Jokhalli, Dilashaini Rural Municipality-4, has died due to diarrhea. The girl had been suffering from diarrhea for three days and passed away at home around 5:30 AM on August 11, according to health volunteer Dammara Negi.
The girl died on the way to the hospital because she didn’t get medical help in time. Instead of taking her to a health center, people took her to a witch doctor, which delayed proper treatment. The death of the girl studying in Grade 8 at Maheshwari Secondary School, Nwaghar, has increased a fear of epidemic in Jokhalli. Teacher Bharat Negi of the same school reported that two more children in the same family are showing symptoms of diarrhea. However, the Jokhalli Health Post is in distance from the rural municipality.
Currently, Birendra Bohara, the chief of the Hadakot Health Post, is on his way to Jokhalli. He added that the details of the situation can only be confirmed once he arrives there.
