Shortage of Staffs at Adanchuli Rural Municipality Office Disrupted Services

The shortage of staff at Adanchuli Rural Municipality has caused difficulties for people to get basic services like recommendations, certifications, and registrations for births, marriages, and citizenship. Local Mohan Singh Budha said visitors often find no representatives or staff in the office and no one answers the phone when they try to reach out to the office. Although the local government has committed quick and effective services, it has not been implemented in Adanchuli Rural Municipality.

The Rural Municipality canceled the contracts of its contractual employees and failed to start the recruitment process for new staff, leading to a shortage of employees in the office. Citizens are urging the municipality to take action to address the shortage.

Local Motilal Mahtara complained that with so few staff, even people’s representatives have stopped coming to the office. He said the absence of staff and elected representatives is causing delays in daily work and decision making.
The Rural Municipality Chairperson, Mohan Bikram Singh, said the work is still going on despite fewer staff. He also said the municipality is making efforts to solve the problem.
