Patients Suffer Due to Non-Operation of Ambulance

Patients have been struggling for the past two months due to halted ambulance and vehicle services after a flood on May 20 damaged the road diversion over the Barun River. This diversion connects northern Sankhuwasabha to Bhotkhola Rural Municipality on the North-South Koshi Highway.

The damage blocked the Khandbari–Kimathangka section of the highway, causing shortages of essential supplies like medicine and food in Bhotkhola. Both patients and local residents have been affected as per Wangchedar Bhote, Chairperson of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality.

After the damage to the diversion, Bhotkhola has been cut off from the main municipal center for two months. Because ambulances are not running, locals are struggling to take patients to Khandbari for treatment.
