Manbahadur Rawat, 50, of Tumcha, Sarkeghad Rural Municipality–1, was allegedly beaten and injured by Assistant Sub-Inspector Puskar Bista, 42, and Constable Rajbahadur Bista, 36, stationed at a police post in Balukuna Rural Muniipality-1 on June 17, 2025. The incident occurred after a minor dispute arose on June 17 between Rawat’s wife, Helu Rawat, 42, and Asadi Devkota, 36, of Lume in Soru Rural Municipality–4, Mugu. Both parties had gone to the Balukuna police post for a discussion regarding the matter.
ASI Bista stated that Rawat had arrived at the police post under the influence of alcohol. However, Rawat claimed that ASI Bista pushed him out of the office, and Constable Rajbahadur allegedly punched him in the face. Inspector Bishnu Shrestha informed that the police had received information about a dispute at the police post, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
