The Bench of District Court Kailali Judge Dandapani Lamichane on June 2 sentenced Bharat Kami, 19 of Lamkichuha Municipality-3 to three months imprisonment for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. Along with the imprisonment, the accused was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 5250 and Rs 25,000 as compensation.
The aggrieved party had filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Lamki on March 25 alleging that he had sexually abused the minor on March 20. The police, through the Public Prosecutor’s Office, filed a case against the accused under the charge of rape at the District Court. On April 25, 2025, the District Court placed the accused under the custody of a guardian during the bail hearing.
The health examination of the victim was done on March 25 at the Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadi.
