The District Police Office Dhanusha arrested 40-year-old Hariram Yadav,40, on May 22 for killing his 20-year-old Anjali Yadav from Baniniya, Lakshminiya Rural Municipality-5, in Khajuri, Janak Nandani Rural Municipality-4. Locals reported that the accused husband and wife had a dispute on February 22. The next day, February 23, the husband informed the community that his wife was missing, and the accused Yadav also disappeared on February 24. When the entire family went missing, locals grew suspicious and reported the Lakshminiya Police Post on February 27. Police subsequently searched and on March 1 discovered Anjali Yadav’s body buried in the prayer room of the accused’s house.
The deceased’s father, Shivadhari Yadav, filed a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office, Dhanusha, on March 1. The post-mortem of the body took place the same day at the Provincial Hospital in Janakpurdham. The accused was arrested and publicly presented at a press conference on May 22, per SP Narhari Regmi of the District Police Office, Dhanusha. He also stated that they are further investigating the accused’s 10-month-old daughter.
