Domestic Violence Victim Urged For Legal Assistance

Dr. Nita Yadav, 36, of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-2, has appealed for support in seeking justice through a press conference. Yadav during the event stated that her family members subjected her to threats and domestic violence, preventing her from using the share of property she received in her husband’s name. On May 15, during a press conference held in Biratnagar, the aggrieved Nita Yadav stated that her father-in-law, Sital Prasad Yadav, has been preventing her from using the share of property registered in her husband’s name. She further claimed that he repeatedly threatened her by hiring individuals and subjected her to violence by defaming her character.

Nita Yadav stated that although the district court of Sunsari issued a verdict claiming the share entitled to her husband on April 19 in the case registered on August 18, 2022, she has faced domestic violence instead. Nita was married to Dr. Sushil Yadav, the eldest son of Dr. Sital Prasad Yadav, and he passed away on May 15, 2024. She mentioned that although the property had already been transferred from her husband for her use, her father-in-law, Sital Yadav, has repeatedly obstructed her from exercising that right. She held the press conference to request support in implementing the court’s decision.

Nita Yadav stated that her father-in-law has not only obstructed her from using 2.47 acres of land in Budhiganga Rural Municipality registered in the name of her late husband but has also been issuing threats and subjecting her to mental torture.
