Accused Arrested in Connection with Tinkune Incident

SP Apil Raj Bohara of the Kathmandu District Police Office informed that police arrested former Army constable Man Bahadur Kalamagar, a resident of Ruruchettra Rural Municipality-6, Gulmi, who is currently residing in Tarkeshwor Municipality-10, on May 8 in connection with the violent incident that occurred during the demonstration of the pro-monarchy group at Tinkune.

SP Bohara informed that Kalamagar, who participated in the demonstration organized by the “Nation, Nationality, Religion-Culture, and Citizen Rescue Campaign” led by Durga Prasai, set fire to the vehicle carrying Rashtriya Swatantra Party’s chief whip Santosh Pariyar. Before setting the vehicle on fire, Kalamagar had also attacked and misbehaved with the National Human Rights Commission’s observer at Tinkune, as revealed through the police investigation.
