Police arrested Kamala Pariyar of Baudikali Rural Municipality-2, Armale, Nawalpur on April 21 for the charge of killing her four-month-old son by hitting him with a stone. DSP Ashok Thapa, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Tanahun reported that Kamala allegedly hit her four-month-old son Arjun Pariyar with a stone while on the way to her maternal home in Thamdanda, Ghiring Rural Municipality-4 on the evening of April 21.
The child sustained serious injuries and locals rushed him to Rampur Hospital, Palpa for treatment. However, he died the same day during the treatment.
The Area Police Office, Dedhgaun, Nawalparasi arrested Kamala Pariyar and presented her at the District Police Office for further investigation. DSP Thapa informed that they completed the preliminary investigation and are conducting further investigation after obtaining extended custody permission from the Tanahun District Court under the charge of killing.
