The District Court sentenced Minan Ban, 30, of Musikot Municipality-5, Rukym West to 10-year-imprisonment for raping a 17-year-old girl. The bench of District Court Judge Tejnarayan Poudel on March 20 sentenced the accused to 10-years-imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,00,000,and Rs 40,000 as compensation as per Registrar Damodar Ghimire. The aggrieved party had filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Bhalubang on January 17, 2024 alleging that Milan had raped the girl on January 18, 2024. Subsequently, police arrested Milan on January 22.
The health examination of the victim was done on January 18 at the Rapti Academy of Health Science, Ghorahi.
