The District Court sentenced 28-year-old Bhoj Bahadur Karki of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-1 to 18 years imprisonment for raping a seven-year-old girl.
Bhupendra Bahadur Thing, the Chairperson of the Nepal Bar Association, said that Judge Bhagwati Sharma Dhungana’s bench decided the sentence on December 19.
Police arrested the accused on 14 November 2023 for the charge of raping the victim on 12 November.
