Three Employees Accused of Beating Ward Chairperson

Ward Chairperson Khagendra Singh Thakuri, 35, of Simta Rural Municipality-2, has alleged that three employees subjected him to beating on December 15, 2024. He stated that the incident took place in Furkesalli, in Simta Rural Municipality-4. According to Chairperson Singh, technical staff member Ghanshyam Basnet, 33, Employment Sub-coordinator Dikendra KC, 31, and JCB operator Kamal Hamal, 41, were involved in the beating. He further stated that the incident was allegedly triggered by a dispute over financial transactions.

Ward Chairperson Thakuri stated that he was called to a meeting where he was beaten with a helmet, stones, and bare hands, resulting in injuries to his teeth and mouth. He added that he received treatment on the same day and is now feeling somewhat better. Meanwhile, the accused, Ghanshyam Basnet, claimed that the Chairperson owed him money, which he repeatedly requested but was not provided. Basnet alleged that the Chairperson made excuses instead of paying and further stated that the Ward Chairperson physically attacked him.

Inspector Padam Khatri informed that Thakuri filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Chhinchu, on December 16, alleging that he was subjected to beating by the staff members. Khatri informed that after completing the investigation report, an arrest warrant would be sought from the District Court to proceed with the necessary legal actions.
