The District Court has sentenced 73-year-old Nandalal Luitel of Khorsane, Sundarharaincha Municipality-12, to 22 days imprisonment for the crime of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl. The Information Officer of the District Court reported that on October 2, the bench of Judge Uddab Prasad Bhattarai sentenced the accused to imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000 as compensation.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint on 4, June 2024, alleging that Nandalal had sexually abused the victim on 1 May. Nandalal was arrested on June 4 and the police registered a case under the charge of sexual abuse in the district court on June 27. The bench of the District Court Judge Uddhab Prasad Bhattarai on 28 June ordered a bail of Rs 50,000. The accused was released on bail on the same day.
The health examination of the victim was done at Koshi Hospital on 4 June.
