The District Court sentenced 45-year-old man to 24 years imprisonment for raping his 14-year-old daughter. Registrar Kiran Kumar Singh informed that the bench of District Court Judge Nagendra Kesari Pokharel on 5 August, 2024 found the accused guilty and gave him the verdict along with a compensation of Rs 7,00,000, and Rs 1,00,000 fine.
A complaint regarding the incident was filed at the Area Police Office, Anarmani on 20 July, 2023 alleging that the accused had raped the victim on 11 July. The accused was arrested on July 20, 2023 and a case under incest rape was registered in the District Court on August 13. The accused were remanded in custody for pre-trial detention by the order of District Court Judge Om Bahadur Sodari on August 14.
The health examination of the victim was done at the Mechi Zonal Hospital, Bhadrapur on 20 July, 2023.
