The District Court has sentenced 23-year-old Narel Limbu of Myanglung Municipality-10, Susling to seven years imprisonment for the crime of raping a 45-year-old woman.
The District Court convicted the accused on the charge of rape and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 3,00,000 and a compensation of Rs 50,000 along with the imprisonment. The following verdict was given by the bench of the District Court Judge Bhim Bahadur Niraula on 7 july.
A complaint against the accused was filed at the District Police Office on 28 March alleging that the he had raped the victim on 18 march 2024. Subsequently, Police arrested the accused from his home on 28 March and registered a case at the District Court on 21 April 2023 through the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The accused was then sent to custody for pre-trial detention by the order of the District Court on 21 March.
The health examination of the victim was done at District Hospital on 28 March.
