INSEC Provided Financial Assistance to Domestic Violence Victim in Going Through Legal Process

 

INSEC has provided financial assistance to a victim of domestic violence to go through the judicial process.

INSEC Palpa District representative handed over Rs 10, 000 to Biju Dangal, 31 of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-3, Khasyuli for going through judicial process on 5 July. The assistance was facilitated through Tara Kunwar, the representative of Women and Children Service Center of District Police Office

The victim submitted an application to the INSEC District representative on July 3, requesting assistance and financial support for the judicial process. The financial aid was provided in coordination with INSEC Nepalgunj Provincial Office. Dangal, who has three daughters, had an inter-caste marriage with Jit Bahadur Dangal of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-3, Khasyauli, in 2011.

She expressed that she was prohibited from entering the house until because she belongs to the Dalit community. Moreover, after the birth of her daughter, she was disrespected and not allowed to participate in the rituals following the death of her father-in-law in 2022.

Dangal is now living in her paternal house with her daughters. She mentioned that it has been very challenging for her to provide education for her daughters. Dangal stated that she will now proceed with the judicial process with the financial assistance she has received.
