The Area Police Office in Barhathwa arrested Balram Chaudhary, 34, from Barhathwa Municipality-7, on June 18, 2024, for the charge of attempting to rape a 34-year-old woman.
For the past six months, the victim’s husband has been residing in Malaysia for foreign employment. On March 24, 2024, while the victim was alone at home, the accused allegedly attempted to rape her. On April 4, 2024, the victim filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office in Barhathwa.
Inspector Suman Baniya of the Area Police Office in Barhathwa informed that the accused was arrested on June 18, 2024, and the district court extended his detention by three days on June 19, 2024, for further investigation into the incident.
The victim underwent a medical examination on April 6, 2024, at Sarlahi District Hospital in Malangwa
