Five people including two teachers and three students of Shiva Shakti Secondary School of Naumule Rural Municipality-6, Nauli were injured by a lightning strike on 8 May. DSP Sunil Dahal of the District Police Office informed that the victims were injured inside the school premises.
Among the injured were 11-year-old Bishwabikas Rawat, 10-year-old Yam Bahadur Chand, both of fifth grade, 12-year-old Lakshmi Gurung of seventh grade, and 31-one-year-old Ramesh Singh Thakuri and 41-one-year-old Prem Bahadur Chand, the teachers. It is reported that the lighting has also damaged the school building.
Bhupendra Shahi, Health Branch Chief of Naumule Rural Municipality said that the injured were treated at Naumule Primary Health Center and sent back to home.
However, Dr. Dharmaraj Regmi informed that Bishwabikas Rawat, who had severe injuries was later taken to the District Hospital and treatment has already started. He added that Rawat is now out of danger.
