The police arrested Padam Bahadur Tamang, 50, on May 3 for the charge of killing his 45-year-old Manmaya Tamang wife of Sundar Haraicha municipality-5 Gorkhali tole.
DSP Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet of the District Police Office said that Padam Bahadur was arrested on May 3 from Sundar Haraicha Municipality-5 Budhi Khola on the charge of beating and killing his wife on May 1 during a domestic dispute.
The body of the deceased was found half-naked and injured in various parts of the body inside the house on May 2.
Inspector Tej Bahadur Dahal said that the accused who absconded after the incident was arrested by the locals and the team of the area police office, Belbari.
The post-mortem of the body was conducted on May 2 at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
The body was handed over to the aggrieved party and cremated at Budhikhola Ghat located in Itahari sub-metropolitan city-4 on the same day.
