The patients of the Anandban Hospital have been shifted to another building of the hospital after the wildfire spread in Anandaban, Godawari Municipality-6, Lalitpur.
Nareshraj Subedi of district police Lalitpur said that 48-year-old Ramesh Pahari and 37-year-old Shankar Pahari of Godawari Municipality-4 were injured while extinguishing fire in Kumari Community Forest in Badikhel, Godawari Municipality-4.
They were initially treated in a health post and subsequently taken to the Kirtipur Hospital for further treatment. However, Shankar Pahari lost his life during treatment.
After the wildfire spread in Anandaban, Godawari on 30 April, the 93 patients at the Anandabad Hospital were transferred to another building of the hospital.
DSP Chitra Bahadur Bhattarai of Satdobato Police Station reported that the police personnels and 15 locals who were trapped while extinguishing the fire in the Kumari Community Forest were safely rescued.
Jayakrishna Bogati, Ward Chairperson of Mahalakshmi Municipality-9, informed that even Patale Community Forest in Lamatar, Mahalakshmi Municipality caught fire along with the hilly areas of district.
Similarly, Chief District Officer Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha said that a team including Nepali Army, Armed Police, Nepal Police and fire fighters have been mobilized to control the fire.
Chief District Officer Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha, SSP Shekhar Khanal of District Police Lalitpur and other security officials have reached the hospital.
