Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Padam Giri, has said that the bill on Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Individuals has reached the final stage.
Minister Giri during a public dialogue program in Kushma, Parbat, on March 27, 2024 announced that the TRC Bill is in its final stage. He added that despite minor disagreements among some political parties, they have effectively advanced to the final stage of the process through constructive discussion.
Minister Giri also stated that the bill has been discussed among leaders of various political parties and is meticulously reviewed by parliamentary committees. While significant agreement has been reached on most points, they are working for the agreement of remaining points through further discussions. He added that all parties have agreed on prioritizing the bill to provide justice for the victims.
Furthermore, he assured that the bill will be passed after thorough preparation and agreement to prevent any emergence of opposition once it is passed.
