Baglung District Court sentenced 50-year-old Prem Kisan of Baglung Municipality-7 to seven years and three months imprisonment for the crime of raping a 47-year-old women with mental disability.
Shiva Prasad Gautam, Information officer of the Court said that the bench of Judge Rameshkanta Adhikari on March 20, 2024 sentenced seven years of imprisonment for the crime of rape and additional three months for the victim being a person with disability. Furthermore the accused was fined Rs 300,000 and a compensation of Rs 25,000.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Baglung on June 1, 2023 alleging that the victim was raped on February 8, 2023 and got pregnant.
On May 30, 2023, while being treated at the Dhaulagiri Hospital, Baglung, the victim was found to be pregnant, and it was revealed that she was raped during the interrogation of the family and health workers.
