Police arrested 31-year-old husband Mangsire Sherpa on the charge of fatally beating his 26-year-old wife Bina Rai of Khandbari Municipality-7, Silichong Rural Municipality.
The aggrieved party alleges that the accused killed Bina under the influence of alcohol on March 1, 2024 during a domestic dispute.
Sherpa absconded soon after the aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office on March 1, 2024. Inspector Ashok Jawegu of the District Police Office said that the accused was arrested on March 7 from Khandbari Municipality-7.
The accused was made public by the District Police Office on March 10 through a press conference.
The post-mortem of the body was done at the District Hospital on March 2.
