On October 22, several individuals came together to provide financial support to four children who had tragically lost both their father and mother in Manthali Municipality-8, Valuvajor, Ramechhap. The children, Lekh Bahadur Bassel (18 years old), Sanjeev Bassel (16 years old), Saroj Bassel (12 years old), and Sandeep Bassel (8 years old), were left without parental care. Their father, Bhakta Bahadur Bassel, passed away less than a year after the loss of their mother, Geeta Bassel, who had died on Navami day the previous year.
Mahesh Basunke, a resident of Barapipal in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-5 of Sindhuli, initiated an appeal for support from friends and relatives, collecting a total of NPR 18,250. INSEC Online published a feature on this situation on October 18, and INSEC provided support to the children on October 20.
Mahesh Basunke contributed NPR 4,000 towards the cause, while Sukumar Basunke Bhuvan donated NPR 5,100. An additional NPR 9,150 was collected from various other contributors. This collective effort is aimed at assisting these four children who are dealing with the loss of their parents and ensuring their well-being.
Out of the four brothers, Lekh Bahadur and Sanjeev had to discontinue their education, while Saroj and Sandeep are still pursuing their studies, with Saroj in grade five and Sandeep in grade three.
