Training For Human Rights Document: Incident Identification, Fact-Gathering and Dissemination Started

The Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) initiated a training program titled “Human Rights Documents: Incident Identification, Fact Collection, and Dissemination” from October 4 2023 in Sauraha, Chitwan.

Dr. Kundan Aryal the Chairperson of INSEC explained about the tradition of INSEC and the current direction of human rights campaign.Chairperson Dr. Aryal highlighted the significant roles played by INSEC, including its involvement in the abolition of the Kamaiya system, conducting human rights campaigns during times of conflict, contributing to the development of human rights-friendly legislation, providing voter education during elections, and playing a key role in the establishment of the National Human Rights Commission.

Chairperson Dr. Aryal, mentioned that they are actively engaged in the protection, promotion, research, advocacy, and conflict resolution areas related to human rights. He also highlighted their commitment to working both at the national and international levels to ensure the coordination of human rights efforts.

In the context of widening the scope of human rights priorities, he said that since human rights incidents are visible and invisible, invisible incidents should be looked for in a profound manner. He said that since INSEC is mentioned as a source in the 10-year conflict report of the United Nations, the organization is highly credible.

Binod Bhattarai, communications and consultant, gave training on the upgrading of the human rights year book during the training.

Madan Paudel, the Chief Editor of INSEC Online, said that information collectors representing 23 districts from INSEC took part in the training.
