On August 11, police took into custody 41-year-old Datta Singh Budha, the proprietor of Bless House and Child Care situated in Bungmati-22, Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality-22, Simikot Rural Municipality-6, Humla. He was arrested on charges of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl.
The victim came forward and filed a formal complaint at the district police premises, detailing that she had been subjected to both physical assault and sexual abuse by the accused. The incident reportedly occurred while she was residing at the child care facility.
SP Navraj Karki, the spokesperson for the District Police Complex in Lalitpur, confirmed that the arrest was made in response to the victim’s complaint. The district court granted an extension of seven days for further investigation into the matter.
The medical examination of the victim was conducted on August 12 at Patan Hospital.
