Rajan B.K., a 30-year-old resident of Chaile in Bahragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality, Mustang, has been sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment for the crime of raping a 16-year-old girl. Judge Ishwar Parajuli’s court, on June 27, 2023, found the accused guilty and imposed a fine of Rs. 400,000. Additionally, the court ordered the accused to pay Rs. 400,000 as compensation to the victim, along with the prison sentence.
The victim lodged a complaint at the District Police Office Mustang on June 13, 2022, stating that the accused, Bik, had raped her on June 11, 2022. Subsequently, the police acted on the complaint and apprehended the accused on the same day, June 13.
The victim girl underwent a health examination on June 13 at the district hospital.
