Clash erupted between the inmates in the Chautara prison on January 1, 2023. Two inmates have been injured in the clash.
Gaurab Shrestha, official of the district prison office informed that the clash broke out between naike and security guard following a dispute in administration matter.
Manoj Karki, prison security in-charge informed that Ramesh Lama, of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality, and Dawa Lama, of Barhabise Municipality, imprisoned in the case of homicide were injured in the prison clash.
Treatment of both the injured was conducted in the Chautara hospital on January 1. Gaurab Shrestha, prison section chief informed that Ramesh Lama has to take seven stitched and Dawa Lama underwent minor injuries.
Inmates closed the internal doors and used ‘dhak’ to attack one another inside the prison.
Security in-charge Karki notified that the situation was distressing when the security guards went inside the jail.
As per Karki, seven imnated involved in the clash have currently been kept in the district police office and the prison is in the process of sending them to Kathmandu.
Naike and security guard were changed in Chautara prison one month ago.
