Ten Arrested for Intruding into Dolakha for Affecting Local Level Election

Police have arrested 10 persons intruding into Dolakha from Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-2, Jhule, with the intention of influencing and affecting the upcoming election. They were arrested on May 9, 2022.

The locals took them under control and handed them over to the police after finding that they were not registered voters of the district and had entered the rural municipality to affect the local level election.

According to DSP Ganga Prasad Poudel of the District Police Office, 10 persons were arrested while two others were absconding on a motorbike.

The locals informed that those people entered the village suspiciously on six motorcycles with the intention of disrupting the election.

Police have also seized six motorcycles used by them.

As per the locals, they entered to intimidate the voters and occupy the booths.

DSP Poudel said that the investigation has been intensified by tightening the checkpoints everywhere in the district with the suspicions of intruders entering to disrupt the election and intimidate the candidates.

A local, Punya Thami, said that in the previous election, non-voters had entered the polling booths in various polling stations in Tamakoshi and affected the election.
