The district court has ordered a jail term of 12 years for 19-year-old Birat Gyawali also a 13-year-old girl.
The bench of district judge Khadka Bahadur K.C declared him guilty and gave the verdict on December 28. He also charged the accused NPR 50,000 compensation for the victim, informed Shrestedar Durga Prasad Basyal.
The victim was raped on August 25, 2020, and the complaint was filed on October 8, 2020, at the District Police Office. The health checkup of the victim was conducted on October 8, 2020, at Palpa Hospital.
The police has filed a case of rape against the victim on November 1, 2020, and had taken ahead the process of investigation. The accused was remanded in custody on November 1, 2020.
