Police have arrested Lakpa Gyawa, 21, a temporary resident of Chapali in Budhanilkantha Municipality-2 on December 26, 2021, on the charge of raping a 14-year-old girl.
According to Anu Lama, Chief Inspector of the Kalimati-based Women and Children and Senior Citizens Service Centre, the accused was arrested after the victim lodged a complaint against him at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj on December 26 claiming that he had raped her on December 25 after making her drunk.
The accused has been remanded in the custody of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj for further trial by the district court on December 26.
The girl has been examined at the Prasuti Griha, Thapathali on December 26.
