District court has ordered one year and six months’ jail term to Aakash Rai, 36, of Panchkhapan Municipality-1 to for sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl.
Shrestedar Dilli Prasai told INSEC that a bench of Judge Shanti Prasad Acharya declared him guilty of the offence and ordered him to pay a fine of NRs 16,000 along with a compensation of NRs 35,000 to the victim.
The police had arrested the accused on March 4, 2021, and a case was filed against him at the District Court on March 15, 2021.
The girl was examined at the District Hospital on March 4.
