Durga Bahadur Damai, 60, of Biruwa Rural Municipality-4 has been arrested on the charges of raping a 20-year-old.
The victim was initially raped by the accused on June 2020 and on January 17, 2021, she was raped again by the accused. The victim had lodged a verbal complaint on May 24, 2021, at the District Police Office Syangja, informed DSP Rajendra Prasad Adhikari.
The accused was arrested immediately after the complaint and a case was filed against him at the District Court. According to DSP Adhikari, the case is under investigation.
According to the victim, she couldn’t file the complaint initially due to the fear of the accused.
A health checkup of the victim was conducted on May 25, 2021.
