INSEC Suggests Provincial Government to Formulate a Human Rights Friendly Budget

INSEC Province 1 Office Biratnagar has suggested Social Development Minister Usha Kala Rai formulate a human rights friendly budget.

INSEC has suggested preparing the budget by giving priority to women, children and senior citizens, conflict victims, Dalits and minorities.

As the provincial government will publish the budget for the fiscal year 2078/07 on June 15, Minister Rai has been suggested to formulate a human rights friendly budget, said INSEC Province 1 Coordinator Somraj Thapa.

He also urged to pay special attention to the drafting of laws related to the rights of women, children, and senior citizens.

He complained that even after three and a half years of the formation of the provincial government, the results have not been as expected.

INSEC’s Program Officer Bagmata Kattel demanded immediate vaccination of human rights activists working in the field.

Minister Rai expressed his commitment to work as suggested. He said that human rights activists working in the field of human rights would be provided vaccines immediately.
