Deepak Rai has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by a bench of Judge Prakash Kharel of District Court for raping a 12-year-old girl. The verdict was passed on March 24, 2021. It accused has also been charged NRs. 35,000 as compensation to the victim.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the Area Police Office, Golbazar on February 19, 2019 alleging that Rai had raped the girl. The girl was examined at the District Hospital, Siraha on February 19.
Rai was arrested from his house on February 19 by the Area Police Office, Golbazar on the charge of rape.
